Overview

GLC is currently accepting applications for a variety of administrative and language support positions, including:

CURRICULUM SPECIALIST - With minimal direction and maximum coordination lead groups in the development of language training materials in reference materials and/or in the development of relevant instructional research and development. With minimal direction and maximum coordination manage the development and implementation of new specialized language training programs for domestic and overseas use. Assist other language professionals, in a mentoring role, by, among other things, developing models that reflect "best practices" as defined by the field of Instructed Second Language Acquisition.

DIGITAL MEDIA EDITOR - Collaborate with others to perform assigned task or execute single handedly the creation of digital content based around the current language curriculum including but not limited to the readability, structure, organization, style, and formatting of all digital content. Collaborate with others in the creation and formatting of language content to improve the online usage of various language learning tools. Collaborate with others in all stages of the Curriculum Design Process in helping create and format the online environment for the language curriculum. Collaborate with others in providing training to all staff on using educational technology and other tools in creating and maintaining language curriculum. Collaborate with others in content creators to establish processes and deadlines for the editing workflow.

PROGRAM MANAGER - Lead the transition plan at all phases. Monitor employee recruiting and retention practices on a regular basis. Apply knowledge of Contractor personnel management (including responsibilities under all applicable labor laws) to monitor activities of the Contractor employees. Apply management and leadership skills in consulting, coaching, mentoring and directing Contractors from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds when issues requiring intervention arise. Coordinate training, coaching and development of Contractors as needed to ensure high quality language instruction and performance. Monitor and track Contractor time and attendance to ensure that Contractors are at work and in class as assigned. Design and maintain spreadsheets to monitor Contractor staffing allocations. Track open positions and coordinate resources to fill in a timely manner. Monitor and manage the performance of contract staff. Conduct observations of contract staff performance to ensure high performance standards are being met. Implement performance improvement plans when necessary, tracking compliance Lead all quality control efforts. Participate in client meetings and have current, accurate information to report regarding program performance. Provide timely reports as required and requested. Proactively anticipate risk issues and provide mitigation plans.

LANGUAGE TESTER - Serve as a Tester for language proficiency examinations, interacting with the examinee in the Tester's native language or a language in which the Tester has near- native proficiency. Proficiency tests may be face-to- face or by digital video conference or another technology-based medium (such as telephone, recorded audio, recorded video).

LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY EXAMINATION RATER - Serve as a Rater for language proficiency examinations, performing flexibly in the role of either a Tester or Examiner as needed due to the testing schedule. Proficiency tests may be face-to-face or by digital video conference or another technology-based medium (such as telephone, recorded audio, recorded video). Participate in the creation and piloting of new materials and tasks to be used in language testing. Participate in the production of audio or video materials for use in conjunction with testing training. Participates in quality assurance activities, such as quality control and third rating or blind rescoring of recorded tests. Adhere to all guidelines and follow all procedures regarding testing material security and safeguarding test score data.
