EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
MA/MS or Ph.D., or foreign equivalent degree in applied linguistics, foreign language education, second language acquisition, English as a foreign language, or a related field and two or more years of experience administering a foreign language program.
OR
BA or foreign equivalent degree in applied linguistics, foreign language education, second language acquisition, or a related field and five years or more experience administering a foreign language program.
AND
Three or more years of experience as a foreign language instructor, tester, curriculum developer, or similar role.
Experience in proactive recruiting, hiring, and training to fulfill emerging requirements.
Experience in overseeing and performing administration on a staff of 50 + in a related field.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Knowledge of basic computer skills: e.g., email, Microsoft Office Suite, and familiarity with online meeting software (Zoom, Skype, MS Teams, Webex), etc.
Responsibilities
- Support the Program Manager (PM) with language instructor recruiting activities, including maintaining talent pool database and files, sending out hiring calls, screening candidates, and preparing applications for submission.
- Support the PM with onboarding and offboarding language instructors.
- Assist with website management, app rollout, and managing GLC presence on LinkedIn and other social media and professional platforms and listservs.
- Monitor the GLC information mailbox and responds to inquiries concerning language instructor calls and language course offerings.
- Participate in biweekly PM meetings, takes notes, and produces a meeting summary for management.
- Organize team/culture events as needed.
Qualifications
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience managing non-native U.S. citizens in a highly diverse cultural setting preferred. Knowledge of adult language teaching and learning principles, curriculum design methods, evaluation and teacher training preferred. Experience teaching or testing with the ILR scale in an adult learning environment valued. Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification valued.
