Careers - Amharic Language Proficiency Tester

Overview

GLC is seeking experienced language proficiency testers in Amharic to assess private and commercial clients’ language proficiency.

Responsibilities

• • Conduct professional language proficiency assessments for speaking, listening, reading, and/or writing skills. Assessments are conducted online and/or in person. Assessments may be done on the Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) scale, ACTFL scale, CEFR scale, or other appropriate language assessment scale.

Qualifications

• • Thorough knowledge of and experience with the Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) proficiency scale and/or the ACTFL proficiency guidelines.
• • Demonstrated experience assessing student proficiency levels in formal testing situations.
• • Exemplary communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively on a testing team (virtually and/or in person).
• • Strong interpersonal skills to foster an environment conducive to test-taking.
• • Minimum Bachelor’s degree.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will fulfill all responsibilities and qualifications listed above. The ideal candidate will also hold a Master’s degree in the fields of language or education.
