Overview
Global Language Center (GLC) is a woman-owned small business providing professional language and services to the U.S. government, commercial, and individual clients worldwide. Founded in 1996, GLC has grown as a result of our excellent performance, care of employees, and in-depth language expertise. We offer instruction in over 70 languages, cultural awareness training, translation, interpretation, curriculum design, digital media editing, evaluation, project management, and administrative support services.
GLC is currently seeking experienced language proficiency testers in all languages to assess private and commercial clients’ language proficiency.
Responsibilities
- • Conduct professional language proficiency assessments for speaking, listening, reading, and/or writing skills. Assessments are conducted online and/or in person. Assessments may be done on the Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) scale, ACTFL scale, CEFR scale, or other appropriate language assessment scale.
Qualifications
- • Thorough knowledge of and experience with the Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) proficiency scale and/or the ACTFL proficiency guidelines.
- • Demonstrated experience assessing student proficiency levels in formal testing situations.
- • Exemplary communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively on a testing team (virtually and/or in person).
- • Strong interpersonal skills to foster an environment conducive to test-taking.
- • Minimum Bachelor’s degree.

The ideal candidate will fulfill all responsibilities and qualifications listed above. The ideal candidate will also hold a Master’s degree in the fields of language or education.
